Amanda and Alex, the new owners, and I scouted a bunch of land, found a piece that worked in the golden triangle of Woodstock, Saugerties and Kingston, and then immediately got to work. 6 months later we deliver their home to them. This Ranch home in Milan NY in Dutchess County is a real beauty. It has huge views into the Catskills. I owned the land for 3 years before I started building - studying the land, studying the views, applying my decade+ of house/land pairings. Had a lot of complexity with rock, long infrastructure runs, interfering neighbors. But, by the grace of god, we got her done and sold her last week - the same day as Farm 39 - filling the coffers so we can go take some more risks somewhere else.
